Privacy Policy
let go of today
Last updated: June 2026
The Short Version
Your thoughts stay yours. Close doesn't collect, track, or transmit your personal data.
What Close Stores
Close stores your entries locally on your device. This includes:
- What you wrote in "Let go" prompts (unfinished tasks, tomorrow's plans, worries)
- Your app preferences (notification times, weekday settings)
- Whether you've completed onboarding
This data never leaves your device unless you enable iCloud sync.
iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you enable iCloud sync in settings, your entries are stored in your private iCloud container. This data is:
- Encrypted by Apple
- Only accessible by you
- Synced between your devices signed into the same Apple ID
Close cannot access your iCloud data. Only Apple and you can.
Permissions We Request
- Notifications — To remind you to let go in the evening and pick up in the morning
- Face ID / Touch ID — Optional, to lock the app if you enable authentication
- Reminders — Optional, to export tasks to Apple Reminders
All permissions are optional. Close works fully without them.
What We Don't Do
- No analytics or tracking
- No advertising
- No data collection
- No third-party SDKs
- No account required
- No servers (except Apple's iCloud if you enable sync)
Data Retention
Entries older than 30 days are automatically deleted from your device. This keeps Close lightweight and focused on the present.
You can delete all your data at any time from Settings.
Children's Privacy
Close does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app contains no content inappropriate for any age.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. But honestly, our approach is simple: your data is yours, and we want nothing to do with it.
